Bhavana is an Indian film actress and model. She hails from Thrissur,
Kerala. She mainly works in the South Indian film industry. She has
acted in all south indian languages such as Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada
and Telugu. She made her movie debut in Malayalam film industry. She
made acting debutante in a movie titled Nammal which was released in
2002. The movie Nammal was directed by Kamal. In this movie she won her
critical acclaim and various awards. In a career spanning over a 10
years she has acted in over sixty films. She has acclaimed two Kerala
State Film Awards. Bhavana was born as Karthika Menon in Nellangara,
Thrissur district, Kerala. She was born to the couple G. Balachandra
Menon and Pushpa. He father G. Balachandra Menon is an assistant
cinematographer. She has one brother named Jayadev. He currently lives
in Vancouver, Canada. She studied at Holy Family Girls' High School in
Chembukkavu near Kerala State Zoo Thrissur. She describes herself as a
restless and a confused person and someone who's "hard to handle". She
had grown up with an aspiration to become an actress. She recalls that
when she was at five-year-old she used to imitate famous South Indian
actress Amala's scenes from the Malayalam film Ente Sooryaputhrikku in
front of the mirror. Also She was even willing to jump from a building
and break her arm like Amala's character did in that film. She is one of
the brand ambassadors along with famous actress Mamta Mohandas for team
Kerala Strikers for the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). The team is
captained by famous Malayalam actor Mohanlal who is also one of the
owners of the team and vice-captain of the team is actor Indrajith.
