When Shekhar Kapur saw Chitrangada Singh's performance in her debut movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi which was released in 2003 he said that "You have outdone Smita Patil". She received training in Kathak (a classical dance) and enjoyed acting She is trained professional Kathak dancer.She began her career in doing modelling in Delhi before making the transition to the silver screen. She has modelled for many top brands companies television and print commercials, fashion shows and magazines style photo shoots. She has modelled for many fashion shows and walk the ramp for top fashion designer. After completing her education she entered modeling.
