After that she went to Anupam Kher’s acting institution named Actor Prepares in Mumbai to do a Diploma in Acting. She is currently doing her BA in English literature at the IGNOU. Malavika started learning dance when she was 6 years old. After three years she had her Arangetram at Guruvayur Sreekrishna Temple. She has learned classical dance under maestros such as Kalamandalam Kshemavathy and Kalamandalam Prasanna Unni. She is well trained in classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattom and Kuchipudi.
