She is a classical bharatanatyam dancer. She made her film debut with Sharada Ramanathan's film Sringaram playing female lead character. The movie was released in 2007. She rose to fame after her performance in Sudhir Mishra's film Yeh Saali Zindagi which was released in 2011. She played the female lead in the movie London, Paris, New York opposite Ali Zafar which was released in 2012. In 2013, she became a part of the Mahesh Bhatt Murder franchise.In Murder 3, she was cast as Roshni opposite Randeep Hooda. The movie Murder 3 was directed by Vishesh Bhatt.Aditi Rao Hydari made her acting debut with the Tamil film Sringaram which was released in 2007. In Sringaram, she enacted the female lead character, as a devadasi.The film itself was based on classical dance. Sringaram was directed by Sharada Ramanathan and produced by Padmini Ravi. They are two noted Bharatanatyam dancers. Hydari was approached and offered the role, after Ramanathan saw her dance performance at a conference for three days. The film received critical acclaim and fetched several accolades. The film won three National Film Awards.
