Richa Panai is an Indian model and actress who appears in Tollywood and Mollywood and various ads. Richa Panai came to prominence as a model in advertisements for the Indian jewellery company Bhima Jewellery.She was born in Uttaranchal and brought up in Lucknow. Right from her school days, she wanted to be an actress. When she was in school, she won the Miss School title and after her 12th Standard the Miss Lucknow title after which she decided to get into modelling. However, her journey to the modelling world was a struggle because of her conservative background and her family's reservations on the showbiz industry.After she did a correspondence course and graduated from Delhi University, she became an air hostess with Kingfisher and was simultaneously looking out for modelling assignments. She started her career as a classical dancer and got into media when she was participating at the reality-based dance competition Super Dancer on Amrita TV. She made her acting debut in the 2004 Malayalam film Manju Poloru Penkutty and went on to play minor supporting roles in a couple of unsuccessful films. She was called as looking like Asin Thottumkal by Vijay and her fans call her 'Junior' Asin. She played her first major role in her debut Telugu film Sri Mahalakshmi, while essaying the lead female character in her first Tamil film, Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu.
