South Indian Film Industry. Iniya primarily appears in Tamil and
Malayalam language movies. The real name of Iniya is Shruti Sawant. She
better known by her film field name Iniya. She is an Indian model turned
film actress who mainly works in the South Indian film industry. She
has modelled for many print and television commercials and also done
photo shoots for various magazines Fashion and cover page photo shoots.
She hails from Kerala. She has two sibilngs one brother and one sister.
She has
worked
in several Malayalam television series, short films and telefilms as a
child artist. While studying fourth standard she acted in the telefilm
named Koottilekku. Her performance in
the telefilm
named Koottilekku followed by appearances in tele-serials such as Orma
and Sree Guruvayoorappan which was directed by Vayalar Madhavan Kutty.
Iniya won the Miss Trivum title in the year 2005. Afterwards she did
modeling and appeared in several television commercials. Also she
appeared in a number of Malayalam award-winning art films such as Saira
which was released in the year 2006 which was directed by Dr. Biju,
Dalamarmarangal which was released in the year 2009 and Umma which was
released in the year 2011 both movies were directed by Vijayakrishnan.
In the year 2010 she signed up a Tamil named Padagasalai. Afterwards she
acted in renowned director named Mysskin's mystery thriller genre movie
named Yuddham in which she played a female supporting character role as
the sister to co-star Cheran's character. Famous director named A.
Sarkunam signed her for the female lead character in his period genre
movie named Vaagai Sooda Vaa which was released in the year 2011 for
which she changed her screen name to Iniya.
